Francesca – Founder and Director
Francesca is the founder and director of ITF Travel. A native Italian who spent over 20 years living in Southern Africa and now based in the USA, she brings a unique, cross-cultural perspective to every journey she designs. With deep roots in both Italy and Africa, and decades of global travel experience, Francesca specializes in creating custom trips that reflect a true sense of place. Her passion lies in connecting people to culture through thoughtful, well-crafted travel that feels personal, immersive, and unforgettable.
Filippo – Independent Tour Leader
Filippo is an independent travel professional with more than 20 years of experience leading educational and cultural tours throughout Sub-Saharan Africa and Europe. Through his company, Africamore, he works with ITF Travel as an independent third-party tour leader on selected programs. His extensive knowledge of the region’s history, wildlife, landscapes, and diverse cultures helps create authentic and memorable travel experiences for our clients and travelers.
Mia – Travel Leader
Mia has traveled to over 30 countries and brings a passion for cross-cultural connection and visual storytelling. At ITF Travel, she supports trip planning and communication while using her creative eye to help capture the spirit of each journey through photography and content. Her global experience and calm presence make her a valuable part of the team.
Gareth – Co-Founder & Partner
Gareth brings over 30 years of experience in international sales and the travel industry. A lifelong travel lover, he’s known for his easygoing style, clear communication, and strong relationship-building. At ITF Travel, Gareth ensures each trip feels personal, well-organized, and supported every step of the way.
Lucia – Social Media & Content Creation
Lucia supports our social media management and communication. With a background in education and a strong attention to detail, she assists in creating digital content, managing platforms, and ensuring that each program is clearly presented and effectively communicated to clients.
Cameron – Accounts Manager
Cameron manages program budgeting, invoicing, and financial logistics for all ITF tours. With a Masters Degree in Accounting from NC State, he ensures transparency, accuracy, and smooth communication with faculty and university finance teams.
